This birthday party was held in a marquee in the beautiful gardens of Cannizaro Park in Wimbledon. The team arrived early just as the marquee was being set up, with boxes and boxes of party food and decorations. The marquee was constructed over-looking Cannizaro House, with plenty of outdoor space where later an inflatable Go-kart rink was set up.
The layout of the space compromised of a large area located for entertainment and go-karting registration, with the other half being utilized for kitchen prep and a dining area for the party guests. We also had two large tables set up for adults to relax whilst their children were Go-karting. It was important to our client that we transformed the blank canvas of the marquee into something spectacular.
The theme throughout was to have bright, vibrant colours, mainly focusing on blue and red hues with touches of other colours in the decoration. Coloured bunting was hung around the marquee with co-ordinating balloons and paper lanterns to brighten up the space. We also decorated the tables with a red and white chequered cloth with blue baskets, which were filled with crisps and popcorn.
The team were also busy the previous day preparing the party food; this included a selection of bite size finger sandwiches. These were then displayed on tiered cake stands in the centre of the tables. We also filled pineapple halves with tinselled fruit skewers, which really set then scene for a party atmosphere.
Once everything came together it was lovely to see how MELON had transformed the plain white marquee into party central with the use of bright, lively colours running through each aspect of the decoration. This was complimented by the coloured bunting around the birthday cake – which was delicious!!
Although we weren’t fortunate with the weather, the Birthday Boy and all of his guests were having a brilliant time outside on the Go-Karts. He also received a trophy for coming first. All in all the event ran without a hitch and a fun day was had by all!
This week is extremely busy in the MELON Camp with trips to Confex, Site Visits and plenty of venue Showcases. We’re all extremely excited to be going to the launch of the New London Dungeons tonight 🙂 . Sophie and Alex were also delighted to attend the site of the Olympic Park hosted by London and Partners .
It was fantastic to see the parks construction in progress from the site of the Olympics and Paralympics in 2012 to its new namesake Queen Elizabeth II Park due for it initial launch this Summer. Super exciting projects are in the offing including a mix of commercial media sites, plenty of housing and of course several new event spaces. Perhaps the highlight was being taken up the UK’s tallest sculpture, the ArcelorMittal Orbit. The views of London’s skyline even on a very grey rainy day were superb. It will be used an Event Space in the future and we certainly cant wait!
Also, Sophie had a fantastic morning at the ICA for a Private View of Jeurgen Tellers’ Woo! Exhibition. Very inspiring stuff and she just fell in love with little guy…
The Event Spaces were set up for a breakfast meeting and looked lovely in morning sunshine.
